By train

In Pompeii there are 4 railway stations with trains to Naples, Salerno and Sorrento.

Pompeii excavations: Circumvesuviana stop Pompei Villa dei Misteri, the Naples City / Sorrento (www.vesuviana.it).
Main stops of the line: Naples Central Station, Ercolano (Herculaneum), the Greek Torrel, Torre Annunziata (Oplonti ruins), Pompei (inputs Porta Marina upper and lower), Castellammare di Stabia (excavations di Stabia), Vico Equense, Sorrento.

Pompei Centre / Sanctuary (at 140 meters from the Sanctuary): Circumvesuviana Pompei stop city, town line Naples / Pompei-Poggiomarino (www.vesuviana.it).
Main stops of the line: Naples Central Station, Ercolano (Herculaneum), Torre del Greek, Torre Annunziata (Oplonti ruins), Pompei Centre (Sanctuary entrance and excavations of Porta Anfiteatro).

Pompeii center (450 meters from the Sanctuary of Pompei): Trenitalia, the Naples city / Salerno (www.trenitalia.com).
Main stops of the line: Naples city, Herculaneum and Torre del Greek, Torre Annunziata, Pompei, Cava dei Tirreni, Vietri sul Mare (Amalfi Coast), Salerno.

By car

In Pompeii there are 2 motorway exits and the entrance to the highway Castellammare di Stabia / Sorrento.

Pompei: A3/E45 highway Napoli-Salerno-Reggio Calabria exit Pompei Ovest. Please note: the Castle Pompeii West is output only for those coming from Naples or Salerno. Admission is only in the direction of Naples.

Pompei Centre (Sanctuary): A3/E45 motorway Naples-Salerno-Reggio Calabria exit Pompei Est / Scafati.

To reach the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento there are two ways: take the motorway at Pompei Ovest towards Salerno and take the exit Castellammare di Stabia and then go on to Sorrento. For those unwilling to pay the toll for a single output (currently € 2), you can take the speedway from Pompeii / Castellammare.

By pubblic bus

Pompeii / Vesuvius: Pompeii links - Herculaneum - Vesuvius.

From Naples (www.gesac.it): public bus to the central station of Piazza Garibaldi with departures every 20 minutes for a period of 15/20 minutes, and then by train (Circumvesuviana or Trenitalia). Private bus (shuttle bus service) www.curreriviaggi.it leaving every two hours from Naples Capodichino Airport from 9 am to 19.30. Tickets cost € 10,00 per person.

Bus parking: for tourist buses in transit in Pompeii there was talk of a tax ZTL. To date, the regulation is not yet effective. Tour buses therefore, can park at Piazza Falcone-Borsellino in private car parks and in the parking lot of the Sanctuary by reservation.
